About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is pleased to present an exciting General Manager vacancy for a well-established fine dining restaurant in Somerset West. As a senior leader with a strong background in fine dining service standards and proven team management ability, you will be responsible for leading and managing the full Front of House (FOH) operation and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full FOH operation and service delivery
  • Manage, train, motivate, and hold the team accountable to world-class standards
  • Drive guest experience and ensure consistent, award-level service and attention to detail
  • Maintain strong floor presence, service leadership, and service recovery where needed
  • Oversee reservations flow, functions planning, and daily operational coordination
  • Ensure HR procedures, discipline processes, and labour compliance are followed
  • Maintain strong admin and paperwork discipline including reporting and controls
  • Support financial and business practices including stock awareness, cost control, and basic budgeting
  • Work closely with the kitchen and beverage team to support menu and pairing excellence

Requirements

  • Proven senior restaurant management experience essential
  • Fine dining background required
  • Strong wine and food knowledge with confident guest engagement
  • Hands-on leadership style with a sense of urgency and high standards
  • Solid HR and basic labour law knowledge
  • Good understanding of basic business and fiscal practices
  • Strong admin ability and attention to operational detail
