Job Description

Exclusive luxury Safari Lodge – maximum 22 guests ProStaffSelect are in search of an ASSISTANT LODGE MANAGER / DUTY MANAGER who is skilled and experienced in all essential areas of luxury lodge operations including: Front Office, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS Oversee daily operations of the lodge, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning Assess, review and coordinate all lodge reservations and bookings Supervise and manage concierge services and coordinate special guest requests Welcome and check-in guests, ensuring a warm and personalized experience Implement and maintain standard operating procedures Oversee inventory management and procurement processes Ensure the lodge & all guest villas are neat, well-maintained, clean & ready for occupancy Support and oversee food & beverage service along with kitchen production Create & supervise a culture of exceptional fine dining that embodies excellence Conduct & oversee consistent on-the-job training in food & beverage operations Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development Manage staff in terms of discipline and practices that support excellence along with all SOPs Ensure ongoing coordination with maintenance teams for regular upkeep and repair of facilities Analyse & assist with the implementation of sustainability and eco-friendly practices Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with 5-star standards in all departments Collect and analyse guest feedback to improve services and facilities Foster a positive and motivated work environment among the staff Oversee inventory management and procurement processes Build and maintain strong relationships with guests to encourage repeat business Implement innovative ideas to enhance guest experiences and lodge offerings Participate in internal and local community sustainability projects and initiatives Handle guest complaints and resolve issues as needed Maintain operation focus on service excellence and ensure exceptional guest service and satisfaction REQUIREMENTS Min 3-4 years work experience & management within a leading 5* boutique hotel / luxury lodge Strong admin and organizational skills with strengths in Front Office, Housekeeping and F&B Good understanding and experience of HR practices including basic labour law & disciplinary procedures Exceptional Food & Fine Dining Culinary experience as well as Signature Wine & Beverage experience Five-star hotel standards of service are essential with a true passion for service and the hospitality industry Awareness and knowledge of special dietary needs and allergies Highly proficient in a range of Computer Skills including Point-of-Sale and Back of House Systems Thorough understanding of Housekeeping and Maintenance Procedures Fully proficient in daily front office administration, concierge and reception duties Fully attentive to luxury service standards with acute attention to detail and personalized service
