Assistant Restaurant Manager (MP) Cape Town | On-site You are a vibrant, energetic, and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager who will be responsible for jointly managing our busy restaurant outlets and ensuring that every guest receives personalised attention every time. Your duties will include delighting our guests with trendsetting and innovative products and outstanding service experiences, achieving operational profitability by driving sales targets and managing costs, and contributing to the planning of the food and beverage menu offerings and promotions. This role involves setting and maintaining food and beverage service standards and conducting regular guest service, menu, sales, and standards training with staff so that they can offer world-class service to our guests. One of your key responsibilities as the Assistant Restaurant Manager is to lead and inspire teams. Your ability to foster teamwork, encourage personal accountability, and promote staff engagement and retention is vital to our restaurant’s success. You will oversee a wide range of responsibilities. From managing staff processes such as personal presentation, recruitment, performance, and conduct to overseeing the daily restaurant operations, including bookings, stock ordering and control, restaurant preparation, cleaning and hygiene protocols, service, and cash ups. Along with your Matric Certificate, you have a qualification from a recognised South African or International Educational Institution and have completed Cape Wine Academy, WSET or Cocktail Bar courses. You have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy, up-market restaurant with a background in using technology including micros / speed point machine, MS 365. A track record of leading and managing large teams will set you apart. You are flexible and able to work shifts across multiple outlets, fulfil F&B duty management shifts, and have your own transport. You have excellent communication skills, extensive knowledge of food and beverages, including cocktails, wines, and spirits, and a thorough understanding of hotels, competitors, and the city. Strong team leadership and management abilities, financial management expertise, and proven selling skills are essential.
