About the Role
The Vineyard Hotel is seeking a vibrant and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving business success. Key Responsibilities
- Delight guests with trendsetting and innovative products and outstanding service experiences
- Achieve operational profitability by driving sales targets and managing costs
- Contribute to the planning of food and beverage menu offerings and promotions
- Set and maintain food and beverage service standards
- Conduct regular guest service, menu, sales, and standards training with staff
- Lead and inspire teams, fostering teamwork, personal accountability, and staff engagement and retention
- Manage staff processes such as personal presentation, recruitment, performance, and conduct
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including bookings, stock ordering and control, restaurant preparation, cleaning and hygiene protocols, service, and cash ups
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Qualification from a recognised South African or International Educational Institution
- Completion of Cape Wine Academy, WSET, or Cocktail Bar courses
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy, up-market restaurant
- Background in using technology including micros / speed point machine, MS 365
- Strong team leadership and management abilities
- Financial management expertise
- Proven selling skills
