Job Description

Our client, a leading innovator in Southern Africas energy sector, is accelerating the shift to cleaner fuels through Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) solutions. They seek a strategic, commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead market expansion.

This senior, permanent role reports directly to the CEO and offers significant autonomy to shape commercial strategy. Youll manage one direct report, with scope to grow the team as the business scales.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, or related field
  • 8+ years business development experience in energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills
  • Track record of sourcing clients, building pipelines, and closing large deals
  • Strong knowledge of LNG market dynamics in South Africa
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive client acquisition and build a strong sales pipeline across industrial, transport, and power sectors
  • Lead negotiations for complex agreements (supply, offtake, partnerships)
  • Support LNG supply, logistics, and distribution growth
  • Mentor and develop your team, fostering high performance
  • Execute business development strategies aligned with CEO vision
  • Build strategic relationships with stakeholders, including regulators and partners
