About the Role
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our growing team in Stellenbosch, South Africa. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for turning data into powerful insights and transforming raw data into meaningful business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting, extracting, and compiling data from multiple sources while ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Cleaning, transforming, and structuring raw datasets for advanced analytics and predictive modelling
- Identifying and resolving data quality issues, inconsistencies, and anomalies
- Performing exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and relationships
- Applying statistical techniques, data visualization, and predictive modelling to generate actionable insights
- Working with technologies such as SQL, Python, and BigQuery to analyse large datasets
- Staying up to date with the latest trends and developments in data analytics and machine learning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Data Analytics
- Proven experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role
- Experience within the credit or financial services industry
- Comfortable working with large and complex datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to both technical and non-technical teams
