About the Role
We are seeking an experienced DMC Manager to lead on-the-ground operations for luxury hospitality groups in Dar es Salaam and Arusha. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for curating experiences, managing logistics, and driving profitability for tourist groups, meetings, and incentives.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of FIT (Free Independent Traveler) and group travel, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of services.
- Product Development & Contracting: Negotiate with local suppliers to build cost-effective itineraries.
- Logistics & Project Management: Coordinate all on-the-ground components for meetings, incentives, or leisure travel, including off-site events and activities.
- Financial Management: Develop budgets, manage pricing, and maximize margins on travel packages.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate partnerships with local tourism boards, government bodies, and service providers.
- Risk Management & Safety: Assess potential risks for travellers and ensure all services adhere to safety regulations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, coordinate, and manage operations and quotation teams to ensure efficiency.
Requirements
- A formal travel & tourism qualification
- 7 years in Tanzanian inbound travel experience
- Expertise in logistics for ground handling, flight charters, sales, guest satisfaction, and creating complex guest itineraries
- In-depth knowledge of local destinations, including attractions, culture, and logistics
- Proven ability to manage supplier contracts and enhance profitability
- Ability to resolve issues like booking errors, transportation strikes, or weather disruptions
- Strong interpersonal skills to lead teams and manage client relationships
- Computer literacy, often with experience in booking systems or CRM software

- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
