About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Underwriter to join our team in Eastrand, Johannesburg. As an Engineering Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing risks and setting terms and conditions for engineering insurance policies. You will also build relationships with brokers and clients, develop and analyze risk portfolios, and contribute to the growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing risks for new and renewal business in engineering insurance
- Setting terms and conditions for policies based on technical evaluations
- Building and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients
- Developing and analyzing engineering risk portfolios
Requirements
- A BSC in Civil Engineering
- 5 years of experience working within an Insurer or a Underwriting Manager
- Understanding of engineering risks, construction contracts, building codes, and machinery.
- Familiarity with or willingness to study for FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services) qualifications and Regulatory Exams (RE1/RE5)
