About the Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations at a luxury safari camp in Zambia. This live-in role is ideal for a hands-on chef with strong bush experience and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences in a remote luxury setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all kitchen operations and food preparation within the safari camp
- Design and deliver creative, high-quality menus suited to a luxury safari environment
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Manage; train, and mentor kitchen staff
- Control food costs, stock levels, ordering, and wastage
- Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, health, and safety standards
- Accommodate guest dietary requirements and preferences with professionalism
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef within a luxury lodge or safari camp
- Strong bush experience is essential
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Strong leadership, organisation, and time management abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a remote bush environment
- Flexible; creative, and guest-focused approach
