About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Farm Foreman to join our team in South Africa. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for overseeing daily activities, managing staff and livestock, and ensuring the smooth running of all production activities. With at least 5 years of experience as a farm foreman, you will bring valuable expertise and leadership skills to our operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily farm operations, including managing staff and livestock
- Manage equipment use, servicing, and repairs
- Maintain accurate record-keeping and inventory systems
- Compile and submit daily reports to management
- Enforce safety and compliance protocols across all farm activities
- Manage and optimize crop production
- Lead pest and disease prevention and treatment programs
- Administer orchard spraying and fertilisation schedules
- Supervise and train farm labourers to maximise productivity
- Assist the Farm Manager with financial management and improving budgets
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years farm foreman experience
- Ability to supervise and communicate effectively and fairly to staff
- Physical fitness, able to work on your feet all day
- Excellent vision
- Reliable and can work unsupervised
- Cooperative and works well in a team
- Full Driver’s Licence
- Can set up and operate a sprayer
- Grow Safe certification or willingness to train
- Ability to identify and monitor tree and soil health
