Cape Town City Centre: Human Resources Manager

About the Role

The Human Resources Manager will serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team, overseeing the full HR function across all company locations for a multi-site workforce in Cape Town. The role contributes to the business by developing and implementing HR strategies that support a growing workforce while ensuring statutory compliance and managing complex employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize a minimum of 10 years of experience in a comprehensive HR role to oversee all human capital functions.
  • Lead and manage high-level disciplinary hearings across all sites and represent the company at the CCMA.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies, SOPs, and company policies aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Ensure strict adherence to South African Labour Law, including the BCEA, LRA, EEA, and SDA.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisal systems for retail and head office roles.
  • Lead the Employment Equity Committee and manage SETA submissions, including Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll process and maintain accurate employee records while researching future HRIS implementations.
  • Conduct skills audits to identify training gaps and monitor HR metrics such as turnover and training ROI for the executive team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a comprehensive HR role, preferably within manufacturing, FMCG, or multi-site retail.
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification (NQF 7 or higher) in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in chairing disciplinary hearings and representing employers at the CCMA.
  • Deep understanding of South African Labour Law (LRA, BCEA, EEA, SDA, OHS).
  • Proficiency in Payroll software and Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Salary & Benefits

R 480,000 – R 520,000 per annum, with a fuel reimbursement of CTC.
