About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Farm Manager to oversee large-scale apple orchards. This is a hands-on leadership role, managing production, operations, and a skilled team to ensure top-quality fruit for both local and export markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of apple orchard operations, from planting to harvest.
  • Implement best practices for pome fruit (apple) cultivation, crop protection, and irrigation.
  • Manage and mentor farm staff to optimize productivity and maintain safety standards.
  • Ensure adherence to export quality standards.
  • Collaborate with agronomists and operational teams to maximize yield and fruit quality.
  • Budgeting, reporting, and resource planning for large-scale operations.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Agricultural Science, Horticulture, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of pome fruit production
  • Leadership skills with proven ability to manage a team of seasonal and permanent staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work on-site in the Eastern Cape / Western Cape. (Housing available)
