About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Guide to join our luxury 5* Lodge in Pilanesberg. As the head of our guiding department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional game viewing experiences for our guests while ensuring a safe and sustainable environment for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Guiding Department, overseeing staff training and development
- Discipline and manage staff within the Guiding Department
- Conduct daily game drives and bush walks with guests
- Host duties, including assisting around the lodge in other departments as needed
- Provide leadership to the Rangers department, ensuring exceptional guest experiences during all game drives
- Ensure field guides comply with legislation pertaining to FGASA, DEAT, and the reserve we operate in
- Maintain the company’s ethos and culture within the Rangers department
Requirements
- Grade 12
- FGASA Level 2 (NQF Level 4) essential
- DEAT registered
- Valid ARH, First Aid, and PDP
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a 4/5* Big-5 environment as a Head or Assistant Head Guide
- Wildlife photography experience is a bonus
