About the Role
The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and strengthening the bank’s market presence by identifying and converting new business opportunities, while building and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can translate market insights into actionable business plans, deliver tailored financial solutions, and foster long-term partnerships across key industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business growth by identifying, evaluating, and converting new opportunities across Corporate and Commercial banking segments.
- Develop and execute market expansion strategies, informed by market research and competitor analysis.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to support long-term growth and retention.
- Deliver tailored financial solutions that create value for clients and strengthen the bank’s competitive position.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives, while monitoring performance, ensuring compliance, and contributing to a high-performance culture.
Requirements
Strong industry exposure to sectors such as agriculture, mining, engineering, oil & gas, or investment banking will be advantageous. Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management, and revenue growth is essential. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business plans and translate them into measurable outcomes is required. Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills are also necessary.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Agriculture, Geology, or related field is required. Postgraduate qualification (Honours, Masters, MBA) or professional certifications such as CFA, CA, or CIMA will be advantageous.
