About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Asset Accountant to join our team at Communicate Finance in the Western Cape region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full fixed asset lifecycle, ensuring strict compliance with internal controls, IFRS, tax regulations, and insurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full fixed asset lifecycle including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and monthly reconciliations
  • Conduct physical asset verification, tagging oversight, and discrepancy resolution across group locations
  • Prepare movement schedules for accounting and tax, deliver monthly asset reports, and support budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure strict compliance with internal controls, IFRS, tax regulations, and insurance requirements, including claims reporting and annual declarations
  • Participate in fixed asset-related projects, maintain financial policies and procedures, and uphold company values through strong teamwork, accountability, and effective communication

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing fixed assets, preferably across multi-location environments
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation relating to fixed assets
  • Advanced Excel proficiency with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience reconciling FAR to GL, conducting physical audits, preparing movement schedules, and supporting audit processes
  • Deadline-driven, analytical, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively

Qualifications

Matric (Grade 12)

B Compt (Hons) with articles preferred
