About the Role

Join a forward-thinking and dynamic management team at a luxury boutique lodge in the UNESCO-recognised Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, South Africa. As a Junior Housekeeper/Anchor, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth operations in the lodges back-of-house areas, supporting the housekeeping and kitchen teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with room servicing, laundry operations, scullery duties, and general lodge cleanliness.
• Maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in the laundry room.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Wash; dry, fold, and organise guest linen, towels, and staff uniforms.
• Sort; categorise and store laundry correctly (colours, fabric types, guest vs. staff linen, treatment required items).
• Perform spot removal and pre-treat stains using approved products and methods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the scullery area.
• Assist the kitchen team with basic tasks during busy service periods.
• Support with waste management and recycling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in staff offices, corridors, storage rooms, and BOH spaces.
• Assist with scheduled deep cleaning tasks in non-guest areas.
• Ensure hygiene standards are upheld across all operational zones.
• Report maintenance issues promptly.
• Keep outdoor operational areas tidy, including pathways, service yards, and waste zones.
• Support with basic outdoor cleaning tasks as required.

Requirements

• Clear criminal record
• Excellent employment track record
• References will be verified
• Excellent English fluency (written & verbal) – non-negotiable
• Highly presentable / take pride in your appearance
• Experience in housekeeping, laundry, and scullery work (lodge or hotel experience beneficial)
• Able to work in a remote environment
• Good physical stamina and strong attention to detail

Salary & Benefits

Gross monthly salary of R6, 500.00 per month

Gratuities – participation in the shared tip pool

Lunch and dinner provided during rostered on duty period

Private bedroom in staff housing, with communal bathroom and kitchen facilities

Self-service laundry facilities available 6 days off per calendar month (May change according to operational needs) + 15 days leave days per annum.

Working Conditions

• Remote, onsite living position with single accommodation
• Candidates must be comfortable living in a quiet, rural environment.
• Due to the nature of the accommodation and operational requirements: family, children and pets cannot be accommodated.
• Must have access to Whatsapp video / Zoom / Microsoft Teams for initial interviews.
