About the Role
The Junior Stock Clerk role is an entry-level position that plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring smooth supply chain operations. This role requires a strong understanding of inventory management principles, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with monitoring stock levels for finished goods and raw materials.
- Conduct routine and ad hoc stock counts under supervision.
- Support in preparing daily/weekly/monthly stock reports for review.
- Assist with reconciling variances and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Check stock rotation daily to ensure adherence to the FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principle.
- Verify proof of delivery notes and ensure proper filing.
- Assist with resolving basic invoice and delivery discrepancies.
- Monitor and follow up on in-transit shipments as required.
- Compile stock age reports and identify aged stock for review.
- Ensure proper stock rotation by supporting checks and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to food safety requirements.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management (experience with SAP is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of food safety principles is an advantage.
