About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team in South Africa, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of technical systems in high-tech environments. As a critical member of our mission-critical team, you will work closely with our building management software to identify and resolve malfunctions, perform on-site repairs using LOTO procedures, and contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor technical systems via building management software.
- Respond immediately to malfunctions (e.g., HVAC issues, power failures, access problems).
- Carry out safe, on-site repairs using LOTO procedures.
- Perform regular technical inspections and report anomalies.
- Act as part of the High Priority Team during emergencies such as fire alarms, gas leaks, and elevator faults.
- Work on a 3-shift rotation (3 mornings, 3 afternoons, 3 days off), with a planned transition to a 5-shift system.
Requirements
- Experience in a hands-on technical role (e.g., service technician, maintenance engineer, or support specialist).
- A completed N2 or higher technical qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar).
- Previous work in high-tech or critical environments (data centers, hospitals, industrial plants, etc.).
- Understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to on-site emergencies.
- Familiarity with LOTO and safety-first procedures.
Qualifications
- N2 or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical fields.
