About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Technical Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar installations, electrical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. This role involves assisting with all aspects of solar installations, ensuring maximum availability and performance ratio, and reporting on events.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with all Solar installations

• Issuing Electric certification (electrical background beneficial)

• Preventative and corrective maintenance on solar installations while following HSE procedures

• Evaluating new products and services

• Pricing comparisons to competitors to be market related

• Meeting potential customers and suppliers

• Building relationships and trust with suppliers and customers

• Site meetings and visits

• Preparing and sending customer quotes

• Following up on issued quotations, closing the deal

• Interacting with group management and finance team

• Ordering material, arranging delivery and collection

• Overseeing installation on site

• Directing teams on what to do

• Commissioning the system

• Repairs on existing installations, PV- systems and water heating systems

• Monthly Stock Take

• Weekly Stock reports to CFO

• Maintaining stock categorization on system to ensure efficient reporting

• Placing reorders with suppliers with Managing Executive approval

• Taking inventory counts

• Ensuring all warehouse items are priced accurately and efficiently

Requirements

• Excel “must”

• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

• Fluent in English and Afrikaans

• Knowledge and experience in solar and solar geyser installations

• Electrical background beneficial

• Technical skills: Good understanding and perception of integrated system and effective fault-finding techniques
