About the Role
Craven Cottage CC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hostess & Reservations Coordinator to join our team. As the first point of contact for guests, you will be responsible for ensuring a warm and welcoming experience for all visitors. You will also play a key role in managing reservations, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their assigned tables.
- Manage the reservations book and assist with table allocations to ensure smooth service flow.
- Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to management and service staff.
- Answer incoming calls and assist guests with general enquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organised hostess desk and front-of-house area.
- Assist with Switchboard duties and support restaurant operations when required.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Hospitality or tourism qualification advantageous.
- 1–3 years’ experience in a reservations, hosting, or front-of-house hospitality role.
- Experience with reservation systems and third-party booking platforms (e.g. Booking.com, Expedia).
- DinePlan knowledge advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to work as part of a team.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role. However, relevant experience and training in hospitality or tourism is advantageous.
