Stellenbosch: International Business Development Manager (CH1209) – Remote with Travel

Job Description

Our Belgian client is a fast-growing European business in the mobility and public-space infrastructure sector, specialising in bespoke construction solutions such as bicycle parking systems, shelters, and related modular products. With continued international expansion, the company is strengthening its distributor network across Europe and further afield. To support this growth, they are seeking an International Business Development Manager to be based in South Africa, with regular international travel to Belgium and to European clients. What makes this role different This is not a classic Sales Manager role. The focus is on activating and enabling distributors—professionalising the network, improving partner performance, and commercial excellence across the channel. You will report directly to the CEO. The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and play a key role in supporting international growth. Key responsibilities Drive channel growth strategy and governance, including distributor business plans, sales targets, KPI tracking, and structured annual performance reviews Develop, activate, and support distributors through commercial guidance, training, forecasting, scalable product configurations, cross-selling opportunities, and support on complex quotations Identify growth opportunities across the distributor network and support expansion within existing and new markets Assist in resolving technical issues relating to drawings, components, installation, and product configuration Maintain strong financial and commercial discipline by protecting price positioning, managing margins and product mix, and ensuring effective CRM and KPI dashboard usage Requirements Relevant commercial qualification, such as a BCom or similar degree At least 5 years’ experience in Business Development, Channel Management, Account Management, and/or technical B2B sales Industry experience within industrial, manufacturing, construction-related, or technical product environments Fluency in English is essential A basic understanding of Dutch is required; for South African candidates, Afrikaans will be considered sufficient (reading only) Proficiency in an additional European language would be an advantage Travel and practical requirements Willingness to travel internationally 2 to 3 times per year to visit distributors and European headquarters Valid passport required What’s on offer This is an opportunity to step into a strategic international business development role with direct impact on growth and profitability.
