Job Description
- Install and maintain distribution components (switches, breakers, transformers, etc.).
- Connect wiring in circuits and ensure compatibility of components.
- Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot hazards, malfunctions, and repair/replacement of faulty units.
Machine & Equipment Maintenance
- Carry out preventative maintenance and attend to breakdowns.
- Implement improvements on machines and equipment when required.
- Ensure correct use of lubricants and workshop tools.
- Order and collect spares in consultation with the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain statutory registers (power tools, ladders, lifting devices, etc.).
Buildings & Grounds Maintenance
- Perform repair and preventive maintenance on buildings and facilities.
- Carry out basic electrical and plumbing repairs as needed.
Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Adhere to QMS protocols and procedures.
- Ensure security and compliance with GMP standards.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow H&S policies and statutory regulations.
- Monitor contractor compliance and safe work practices.
- Keep all work areas neat, tidy, and safe.
- Participate in HACCP, sanitation testing, and safety meetings.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (or equivalent).
- Qualification: Relevant technical qualification + Trade Test Certificate.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in industrial electrical systems and maintenance.
- Other: Valid Driver’s Licence.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, HACCP, and quality systems.
- Ability to problem-solve under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts and be on call.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights.
