About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to lead and coordinate daily production activities in our Uitenhage facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring output, quality, and delivery targets are met while minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
- Ensure production schedules are followed and downtime is minimized.
- Monitor KPIs (OEE, scrap rate, cycle time, productivity).
- Allocate manpower effectively across workstations.
- Supervise, coach, and motivate production operators.
- Conduct daily shift meetings and performance briefings.
- Manage attendance, timekeeping, and shift rotations.
- Identify training needs and support employee development.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, SMED, TPM).
- Lead problem-solving activities using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
- Identify process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- At least 35 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 12 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive production processes.
