About the Role
Breakdown Technician required for a leading logistics company in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing drawings and pictures to identify faults, assembling mechanical parts on trailers and tankers, and performing various repair tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings and pictures to identify faults
- Assemble mechanical parts on trailers and tankers
- Perform various repair tasks, including fault finding on air systems and fitment of new ABS systems
- Work with electric aspects on all trailers
- Utilize cutting torches, drilling machines, and grinding work
- Provide assistance with breakdowns
- Service trailers and tankers
Requirements
- Matric
- Minimum 3 years experience in the trailer manufacturing and repairs environment
- Basic communication skills and abilities
- Ability to read drawings and work under minimal supervision
- Knowledge of repair work on tankers and trailers
- Ability to work in a team
- Bilingual
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- Ability to work long hours, overtime, and be on stand-by
