As a Junior Bookkeeper, you’ll process accounting journals, perform reconciliations, and prepare VAT returns for submission to SARS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and record accounting journals accurately within Xero, ensuring entries align with company and client policies.
• Perform comprehensive reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank, accounts payable, accounts receivable) and select income statement accounts, ensuring accuracy in all supporting schedules.
• Calculate and prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with SARS requirements and timely submission.
• Assist in managing month-end and year-end financial close processes by reconciling accounts and addressing any discrepancies.
• Provide clients with general bookkeeping support and advice on VAT and accounting processes as needed.

Requirements:

• Tertiary Qualification in Bookkeeping
• 2-3 Years Experience in a similar role
• Driver’s License and Own Vehicle (Preferred) 
• Proven experience with Xero accounting software.
• Proficiency in VAT calculations and return preparation.
• Experience in balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations.

Remuneration:
R10,000 – R15,000 per month
