Job Summary
Our client is an established group of companies in the logistics industry, specializing in container depots and expanding into other areas of logistics. They are seeking a Senior Finance Executive with exceptional technical and problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to work, and a proven ability to deliver results. The role involves managing accounting records, financial management, budgeting, reporting, and analysis to maintain a strong and effective finance department that supports the business.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS.
- Identify and manage financial risks through the implementation of appropriate accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Collaborate with directors to prepare consolidated annual budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for submission to key stakeholders.
- Oversee audit preparations and ensure findings are resolved before the next audit cycle.
- Review and enhance accounting and reporting systems.
- Prepare and address queries on monthly management accounts.
- Manage full accounting functions, including income statements, accounts receivable/payable, and assets for all subsidiaries.
- Oversee payroll and compliance with SARS and CIPC requirements.
- Effectively manage cash flows and relationships with financial institutions.
- Review and approve EFT payments and ensure proper documentation and filing systems are maintained.
Requirements:
- B.Com in Financial Accounting or Financial Management.
- Completed articles with an accredited audit firm and/or membership with SAICA, ACCA, or CIMA (advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a core finance environment.
- At least 3 years of management experience.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including graphs, pivots, and V-lookups (tested during the interview).
- Strong capability in financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to establish strong stakeholder relationships, manage teams effectively, and solve complex problems.
- Logistics industry experience is not mandatory but is considered advantageous.
