About the Role
The Storeman role is responsible for managing and monitoring inventory levels within a manufacturing environment. This includes tracking stock movement, maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet production demands, and minimizing waste and shortages.
Key Responsibilities
- The store is adequately stocked with tools, equipment, spares, consumables and other items that may be required to ensure uninterrupted operations on site.
- The store is Organised.
- All items are correctly marked and stored in the right place.
- Precautions are taken that no unauthorized person enters the store.
- Precautions are taken that the store is at all times locked and that the keys are secure.
- The prescribed stock register is up to date.
- Effective stock control systems
- Stock counts are performed monthly, and deviations are reported to the Site Manager.
- Stock requirements are immediately reported to the Site Manager.
- Issuing Tools and Equipment:
- Item request is received and signed
- Stock is checked to establish availability
- Available item is checked for defects and whether in safe working conditions
- Defects are recorded in daily inspection reports
- Unsafe item/s are recorded in inspection report and registered and not released
- Item/s to be issued are recorded in the issue book and handled to the requesting person.
- Requesting person signs for received item/s
- Issued items are returned by the end of the day of the requesting persons shift
- Unclean items are handed back to the relevant employee to be cleaned
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate
- Forklift license or working experience will be an advantage
Salary & Benefits
13,000.00 – 15,000.00 per annum
