Field Guide / Safari Guide Deliver Exceptional Guest Experiences in the Wild We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Field Guide to join our team and deliver outstanding guest experiences in a wilderness setting. This role requires a deep understanding of the natural environment, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to safety and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Guided Experiences Lead high-quality guided activities including game drives, bush walks, and cultural tours. Provide guests with engaging, informative, and memorable experiences tailored to their interests. Guest Interaction Establish strong rapport with guests through exceptional service and communication. Respond to questions with expertise and adapt experiences to meet individual expectations. Mentorship and Support Assist in mentoring junior or trainee guides by offering guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharing to support their development. Safety and Compliance Ensure all guided activities are conducted with the highest regard for guest safety and in full compliance with lodge policies and relevant conservation regulations. Wildlife Knowledge and Interpretation Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of local wildlife, plants, ecosystems, and conservation efforts. Provide insightful commentary during excursions to enhance guest understanding and appreciation. Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance Conduct daily checks and perform basic maintenance on guiding equipment and game drive vehicles to ensure operational readiness. Reporting and Documentation Maintain accurate records of wildlife sightings, guest activity logs, equipment checks, and any incidents. Report issues promptly to the Head Guide or lodge management. Guest Feedback and Problem Resolution Address guest concerns professionally and efficiently. Escalate more complex issues when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction. Conservation Advocacy Promote responsible tourism and environmental awareness among guests and team members through both education and example. Team Coordination Work closely with other departmentsincluding management, housekeeping, and kitchen teamsto coordinate activity logistics and deliver a seamless guest experience.
