Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit all relevant SARS returns, including VAT, Provisional Tax, Payroll Tax, and Employee Tax Reconciliations.
• Perform monthly VAT reasonableness reviews and respond to SARS documentation requests.
• Manage tax compliance status, reporting findings to senior management.
• Prepare and submit CIPC annual company returns, Stats SA questionnaires, and BBBEE documentation.
• Maintain the company’s compliance drive, ensuring all statutory documents (tax clearance, CIPC, BBBEE, bank confirmations, etc.) are valid and up to date.
• Manage and update company profiles on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and register new business units as needed.
• Support the annual audit process, prepare and review audit files, and resolve queries promptly.
• Prepare and/or review audited annual financial statements in line with applicable standards.
• Maintain and renew licenses (liquor, TV, fleet, etc.) and manage FICA submissions.

Requirements

• B.Com in Accounting or Finance (essential)
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a finance or compliance role
• Registration with an Accounting Body (e.g. SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of South African Tax Laws, IFRS, and financial compliance processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a multi-entity, fast-paced environment
