About the Role
Time Personnel is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Articled Clerk to join their team in Cape Town, South Africa. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for managing financial data, building systems, and improving processes. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage Order Database and Financial Database
- Cross-reference supplier, transporter, port, and client documentation
- Ensure data integrity across operational and financial systems
- Convert operational data into invoice-ready datasets
- Maintain document trails and audit-ready records
- Convert operational databases into structured invoice packs
- Build and maintain invoice portfolio files with full supporting documentation
- Prepare reconciliations before posting to accounting system (Xero)
- Identify discrepancies and resolve invoicing errors
- Liaise with accounts and operations teams to correct mismatches
- Fuel consumption reconciliation and variance tracking
- Port report reconciliation and preparation for client reporting
- Supplier and transporter reconciliation
- Monitor and report operational financial movement
- Restructured and recurring management reports
- Financial reports: Debtors aging & collections tracking, Payables / outstanding liabilities,
- Invoice and margin performance
- Weekly tonnage and throughput reporting
- Cost per ton / operational performance metrics, and variance & trend analysis
- FX & Market monitoring of rate, track impact on transactions, costs, margins
- Support management with FX exposure visibility
- Assist managers with daily operational tracking
- Provide structured financial visibility into logistics flows
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Prepare Board Meeting packs and financial summaries
- Assist with agenda preparation and reporting materials
- Prepare Warehouse EXCO reporting and reconciliation packs
Requirements
- BCom / BFin (Honours preferred)
- Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent
- CFA (Level 1+) beneficial but not required
- Early career finance professional who wants real responsibility
- Interested in operations + finance + data, not just accounting
- Comfortable in a small, fast-moving company
- Wants exposure to logistics, FX, and operational finance
- Structured thinker who enjoys building systems and improving processes
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) are required for this role.
