About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong mining or engineering experience for a high-profile role in Johannesburg, where you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all quantity surveying activities for mining and engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all quantity surveying activities for mining and engineering projects
- Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents
- Monitor project budgets, track costs, and report variances
- Ensure compliance with FIDIC/NEC contracts and contractual obligations
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to resolve commercial issues
- Provide advice on project risk, cost optimization, and procurement strategies
- Mentor and guide junior QS staff
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying
- 10+ years experience as a Mining / Engineering QS
- Preferably PrQS registered
- Strong experience with FIDIC / NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and under pressure on complex projects
