About the Role
Dis- Chem Gardenen Walk Mall, Hartnebos is seeking a Frontshop Assistant to uphold merchandising standards and provide excellent customer service in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining store appearance, processing transactions, and ensuring accurate cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure full ranges of products are on the shelves at all times and neatly presented.
• Maintain stock levels to ensure products have not reached their sell-by date.
• Restock merchandise as needed to maximize sales.
• Follow up on out-of-stock queries from customers in a timely manner.
• Store and pack delivered stock and/or stock pulled from the storeroom correctly.
• Ensure merchandise displays, labels, and pricing are accurate at all times.
• Report price discrepancies to management.
• Maintain the storeroom organized, neat, and tidy.
• Keep up-to-date with new product knowledge to effectively assist customers.
• Assist with restocking of merchandise and supplies as needed.
• Participate in back shopping when required.
• Handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses.
• Process all purchases received, verify and process payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons).
• Exchange merchandise for customers and accept returned goods when authorized by the Frontshop Leader.
• Process loyalty card transactions, including those of accelerated partners.
• Ensure cash is placed in the drop safe according to standard operating procedures.
• Approve and sign line voids and price changes as required.
• Maintain accurate cash flow at all times.
• Facilitate rotation of stock on a regular basis and adhere to Dis-Chem stock control procedures.
• Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management.
• Assist with counting of stock files and general stocktaking.
• Identify and report damaged and expired stock immediately to management.
• Load and off-load stock as needed.
• Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and take them to the designated area.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers and provide friendly, helpful, courteous assistance and advice.
Requirements
Knowledge of retail operations and administration. Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), numerical skills. SAP knowledge is an advantage.
