About the Role
Helderberg Personnel is seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Duty Truck Driver to transport heavy equipment and machinery between sites in the Western Cape region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery, adhering to road safety regulations, and maintaining a clean, safe, and operational condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a heavy-duty tilt tray truck to load, secure, transport, and offload industrial equipment
- Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements
- Ensuring compliance with all road safety and company operational procedures
- Completing accurate trip sheets, delivery notes, and related documentation
- Assisting with loading/unloading and recovery operations when required
- Maintaining the truck and equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition
Requirements
- Valid South African Code EC (14) driver’s licence with valid PDP
- Forklift Operator licence
- Proven experience of at least 5 years driving heavy-duty trucks (8-ton or similar)
- Strong knowledge of load securing and safe transportation practices
- Good driving record and track history
- Sober habits and high reliability
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Qualifications
- Completed Matric or equivalent qualification
- Relevant industry experience or certification is an advantage
