About the Role

Communicate Finance is seeking a skilled Java Software Developer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality REST APIs and microservices using Java 8+ and Spring/Spring Boot. You will also work closely with our database team to ensure seamless integration with MySQL/PostgreSQL and ORM tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop REST APIs and microservices using Java 8+ and Spring/Spring Boot
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git
  • Collaborate with the database team to integrate with MySQL/PostgreSQL and ORM tools
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Stay up-to-date with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and explore opportunities for growth

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Java 8+ and Spring/Spring Boot
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git
  • Solid understanding of databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and ORM tools
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) beneficial
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

Java or cloud certifications advantageous
