Our client is a forward-thinking organisation within the manufacturing/agricultural sector, committed to financial excellence, innovation, and service delivery.

This role is instrumental in providing in-depth financial analysis, compiling management accounts, and delivering strategic insights to support business growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership, playing a key role in the organisation’s continued success.

 
Key Responsibilities

• Generate monthly management accounts for multiple entities (balance sheet, income statement & schedules)
• Analyse Budget vs Actual variances and communicate findings
• Perform cash flow reconciliations and reporting
• Manage and guide Cashbook, Payments & Creditors Controller and Credit Controller
• Prepare audit packs and liaise with auditors
• VAT submissions and statutory compliance
• Review payments for correct allocation and VAT treatment
• Oversee cashbooks, invoicing and debtors age analysis
• Authorise payments on banking portal
• Investigate expense variances and prepare income statement notes
• Resolve accounts queries timeously
• Assist the Financial Manager
• Drive internal controls and process improvements
• Manage ad hoc projects and financial analysis

 

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education:

• BCom in Accounting (minimum)
• SAIPA / SAICA articles completed (highly advantageous)

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant
• Manufacturing or agricultural sector exposure (essential)
• Experience handling full finance function to balance sheet & income statement
• Strong commercial / operational environment exposure
• Group reporting experience (advantageous)
• Hands-on experience using Pastel Sage (non-negotiable)

Skills:

• Advanced Excel
• ERP system experience (Pastel Sage essential)
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Solid knowledge of financial processes and legislation
• Google Drive / Sheets / Docs experience advantageous
