About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa. This role involves overseeing and processing complex accounting transactions across the organization, preparing accurate balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring full compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and internal accounting policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing and processing complex accounting transactions across the organization
- Preparing accurate balance sheet reconciliations and supporting the preparation of financial statements
- Ensuring full compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and internal accounting policies
- Leading month-end and year-end close activities and ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements and audit schedules
- Managing reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries in alignment with reporting deadlines
- Ensuring timely submission of VAT, franchise fees, and other statutory accounting requirements
- Mentoring and providing guidance to Junior Accountants and Accountant
- Providing support to AP and AR teams, including general ledger allocations, remittance reallocations, and coding corrections
- Leveraging system capabilities to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborating with the Commercial Accounting Team to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting alignment
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in financial accounting
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Business Central, Excel)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities
- Ability to manage high volumes of transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in a multi-unit or multi-entity business environment (advantageous)

BCom Accounting (or similar) + SAICA
