Job Description
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting sound financial decision-making, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
This role is based in Hartbeespoort Dam, North West.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee the integrity of financial records in line with applicable legislation and accounting standards.
- Produce reliable management reports and financial information to support business planning and decision-making.
- Take full ownership of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including the processing and reconciliation of cashbook transactions.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with accounting frameworks, such as IFRS/GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the fixed asset registers, ensuring that assets are accurately recorded, reviewed, and signed off on a monthly basis.
- Prepare financial statements, as well as assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Monitor and analyse departmental budgets, comparing actual results against forecasts and identifying variances.
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation and manage the preparation and submission of VAT, dividends tax, and income tax returns.
- Provide ad hoc financial support and assist with additional finance-related tasks as required.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8 years’ experience in finance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
