About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Tracking Technician to join our team at Persona Staff, based in the Western Cape region. As a hands-on technician, you will be responsible for installing and configuring vehicle tracking and fleet management systems, ensuring high-quality installations that meet our company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure vehicle tracking and fleet management systems
- Ensure all installations meet company quality and technical standards
- Test and verify all installations before closing job cards
- Conduct on-site fault finding, repairs, and technical adjustments
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control
- Liaise professionally with clients on-site and provide support where required
- Complete and manage job cards and installation documentation accurately
- Communicate with the coordination team on job progress and challenges
- Adapt installations based on vehicle types and operational requirements
Requirements
- Matric or relevant technical qualification
- Qualification in Automotive Electronics or Motor Mechanics (advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in vehicle tracking / telematics installations
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and automotive electronics
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and wiring schematics
- Valid driver’s license
- Medically fit and willing to travel, including mining environments
- Willing to work after hours and weekends when required
- No criminal record and a stable work track record
- Computer literate
