Job Description

We are seeking a warm, engaging, and guest-focused Experience Host with proven hotel guest relations experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, skilled at creating personalised guest experiences, and confident in handling guest interactions with professionalism and care. Experience & Requirements Minimum 2 years guest relations or front-of-house experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management advantageous Strong knowledge of guest service, VIP hosting, and complaint handling Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-centric approach Proficiency in Opera PMS and Microsoft Office Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide personalised recommendations Well-presented, professional, and confident in interacting with high-profile guests Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays South African citizen with a valid ID Duties & Responsibilities Act as the main point of contact for guests, ensuring a seamless and personalised arrival-to-departure experience Anticipate guest needs and provide personalised assistance, recommendations, and solutions Handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism, ensuring service recovery where necessary Coordinate special requests, celebrations, and VIP arrangements in collaboration with other departments Maintain excellent knowledge of Cape Town attractions, dining, and cultural experiences to enrich guest stays Work closely with Front Office, Concierge, and F&B teams to deliver exceptional service across all touchpoints Maintain accurate guest profiles and preferences to enhance repeat guest experiences Uphold hotel standards, brand values, and service excellence in every guest interaction Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with relevant hotel guest relations experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV is 100% updated All applicants will attend a virtual introduction interview About the Hotel The President Hotel is on a journey to be recognised as a true luxury destination. Key Responsibilities Guest Interaction & Hosting Provide a seamless, personalised experience for all guests by building relationships, remembering names, and ensuring every request is met with warmth and efficiency. Lobby & Public Area Presence Be a constant, welcoming presence in the lobby and public areas, ensuring cleanliness, music, ambience, and overall presentation are at their best. VIP & Group Coordination Personally welcome VIPs, groups, and crew arrivals with tailored check-ins, room allocations, and thoughtful touches such as room drops and turndowns. Guest Profiling & Communication Manage guest profiles, pre-arrival WhatsApp communication, and departure follow-ups. Ensure information is updated for future stays and shared across departments. Requests & Complaints Management Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, and special requirements, ensuring swift resolution and guest satisfaction. Travel Desk Liaison Coordinate with travel partners to curate, plan, and book tours, transfers, and Cape Town experiences. Maintain accurate daily records and service provider relationships. Operational Support Assist with Opera system functions including check-ins, check-outs, reports, and room allocations. Maintain clear handovers and communication with the Guest Experience Manager and fellow team members. Requirements Matric certificate (Grade 12); hospitality qualification or diploma advantageous Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in a guest-facing hospitality role Proficiency in Opera or similar PMS systems Strong knowledge of Cape Town and Western Cape attractions, tours, and experiences Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills Professional, flexible, and detail-oriented Must hold a valid South African ID Key Competencies Guest-Centric Mindset – Passion for creating memorable, tailored guest experiences. Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written communication across diverse cultures. Problem-Solving & Adaptability – Calm, resourceful, and solution-driven under pressure. Attention to Detail – Ensures every detail of the guest journey exceeds expectations. Sociability & Professionalism – Confident, approachable, and polished in all interactions.
