Job Description
As the chosen candidate, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading the design, development, and oversight of electrical projects. Working alongside a dynamic team of engineers and technicians, your primary objective will revolve around ensuring project alignment with set parameters and financial boundaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with project teams to delineate objectives, scope, and desired outcomes for electrical setups.
- Craft designs for both AC and DC power systems, encompassing protection schemes, control systems, and grid interfaces.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of electrical loads, simulate system behaviour, and optimize performance through iterative processes.
- Thoroughly assess and select electrical components, evaluate supplier quotations, and ensure seamless integration with project specifications.
- Act as a liaison for troubleshooting electrical issues, coordinating with field technicians, and overseeing the seamless installation of equipment.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and utility providers, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise throughout project execution, addressing design queries and offering strategic guidance.
- Assess potential risks, formulate safety protocols, and maintain a secure work environment conducive to optimal performance.
- Monitor project timelines, track progress milestones, and uphold adherence to predetermined budgets.
- Conduct thorough performance evaluations to validate the functionality and efficiency of electrical systems.
- Evaluate the feasibility of integrating new installations with existing power infrastructure through meticulous technical assessments.
- Generate accurate engineering drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules, adhering strictly to regulatory codes and safety protocols.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and operation manuals, to ensure clarity and transparency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (NQF Level 8 Honours/Postgraduate Diploma)
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an Electrical Engineering capacity
- Profound understanding of electrical systems and components (familiarity with solar technology is advantageous)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, consistently meeting targets and deadlines
- Exceptional problem-solving aptitude coupled with strong communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting
- Commitment to safety protocols with an unwavering dedication to precision and quality standards
- No criminal record
