Panel Wireman Location: Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng Report to: Operations Seniority Level: Mid-Career (2 – 5 yrs exp) Type: Temp Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Panel Wireman to assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels and switchgear assemblies based on wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical components and safe working practices within a workshop environment. Key Responsibilities: Assemble and wire control panels, distribution boards, and electrical enclosures. Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout plans. Install and connect electrical components such as relays, circuit breakers, PLCs, terminals, and switches. Cuts, strips, crimps, and routes wires neatly and to specification. Perform electrical testing and fault-finding on completed panels. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant safety regulations and quality standards. Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other workshop staff to meet production deadlines. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Document any modifications or deviations from standard designs. Skills & Experience: Education: Relevant technical qualification (e.g., N3/N4 Electrical Engineering, Trade Certificate in Electrical or Panel Wiring). Experience: Minimum 25 years experience in panel wiring or electrical assembly. Skills & Competencies: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Good understanding of electrical components and systems. Attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic knowledge of health and safety practices in an electrical environment. Advantageous: Experience with PLC wiring, automation systems, or industrial panels.
