Job Description

Requirements: 3 Years related Human Resources experience. B-Com in Human Resources Management. Sound understanding of applicable legislation including but not limited to LRA, BCEA, EE, SDL, OHSA & MIBCO stipulations. Have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Human Resources Management principles, best practices and procedures The ability to compile and report on current and new HR Metrics as per business requirements. Excellent working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc). Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment. Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition Responsible for the entire employee life cycle process for new staff members at all levels for the Company, including recruitment, selection and onboarding.  Liaise with management regarding interviews and ensure that interview guides utilised is in conjunction with the required skill set. Ensure all relevant recruitment documentation is completed accurately and in full and pre-employment checks are completed, these include but are not limited to: Employment Reference Checks, Application Forms and Recruitment Checklist Forms. Ensure that the recruitment documentation is submitted and completed in a timely manner for sign-off by the Human Resources Manager. Build a business relationship and work closely with approved Recruitment Agencies ensuring that recruitment is completed within the given timeframe. Ensure that the right person is recruited at the right time for the right job in accordance with applicable legislation and in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan. Ensure job descriptions and performance management documents are in place and maintained for each employee.  Ensure that the correct termination process is adhered to and all relevant documentation is completed accurately and submitted for sign-off by the Human Resources Manager. Human Resources Advisory Services Assist management regarding probation and performance review periods. Act in an advisory capacity to management and the workforce, ensuring that all HR related matters are dealt with according to the HR processes and in accordance with applicable legislation. Educate and provide training to management and the workforce regarding policies, processes and work-related changes. Liaise with management regarding absenteeism and act in an advisory capacity regarding the appropriate action to be taken or appropriate solution to the problem. Industrial Relations Act as a first line advisor to management and employees in terms of all disciplinary, (progressive and corrective), and grievance matters. Assist management with misconduct and incapacity investigations. Ensure that managers implement corrective action as advised. Ensure that discipline is maintained and applied fairly and consistently in the workplace. Provide support to management in managing performance and assist in the analysis of plans to resolve any identified performance problems. Arrange and ensure disciplinary, appeal and grievance hearings are scheduled and managers are adequately prepared for the hearings. Reports and Administration Ensure that all HR Reports are accurate, updated and maintained on a weekly basis, these include but are not limited to: Recruitment Tracker, IR Report, Excellence Cup Report and any other report/s as and when required. Ensure that all personnel files are up to date with applicable information as per LRA stipulations. Ensure that all probation / performance reviews are updated on a monthly basis and that all relevant documentation is received from the respective managers. HR Projects Assist with various HR projects and ensure managers understand the processes by training, coaching and mentoring. Perform ad hoc tasks as and when required.

Job Description

Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 / Equivalent Bachelors Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Human Resources Management Minimum of 3 years experience within an HR Generalist role 1 2 years experience processing payroll on Sage300 People Payroll system Familiar with South African Labour Laws High proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database management) Attributes & Behaviours: High degree of integrity and confidentiality High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to follow processes and procedures Ability to work well under pressure and towards deadlines Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective HR administration skills Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Assist HR Manager with all HR and business-related duties Administer and process monthly payroll on the Sage300 system Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies Manage employee data and records on Sage People 300 and assist with monthly reporting Complete WCA Forms and UIF documentation, as required Assist in managing recruitment process from start to end using online recruitment system – screen CVs, schedule and conduct on-site/virtual interviews, assessments and conduct security, credit and reference checks Draft offer letters and employment contracts, as well as regret emails Ensure all new employees are taken through an onboarding programme and fully inducted Act as advisor to management and staff on employee relations matters Investigate disciplinary matters and coordinate disciplinary hearings Assist in maintaining, updating and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures, in line with labour laws Assist with performance management processes Assist with skills development initiatives and maintaining record of staff training Maintain and update electronic staff files for employees – ensuring all documents are received and kept up-to-date Provide logistical arrangements and attend quarterly Health and Safety and Employment Equity Meetings Assist in implementing and managing culture building and staff building initiatives Assist in providing support and driving change management Assist with social calendar and staff intranet General administration and ad-hoc duties related to HR administration Additional Information: Full-Time onsite position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 12 months Fixed Term Contract This position will be based in Mowbray, Cape Town Closing Date: 24 October 2025 Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
