Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality or leasing industry. As the Accountant and the key finance function of our growing business, you will play a critical role in managing the financial health and stability of the company. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, from day-to-day accounting tasks to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBILTIES: Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Monitor cash flow, budget variances, and financial performance metrics, providing regular updates and insights to management. Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, budget projections, and financial models to support strategic decision-making. Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions. Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial planning activities, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary updates. Provide financial guidance and support to other departments, helping to drive business growth and profitability. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management. OTHER: 1. Providing support where applicable to the Finance Director and Financial Manager 2. General ad hoc duties as the company sees fit IDEAL QUALIFATIONS: 1. 5 years’ experience in a similar role 2. Degree in Finance or Accounting non-negotiable 3. Xero accounting software experience non-negotiable 4. Hospitality related experience preferred, namely short-term letting as a managing agent 5. Must love a fast-paced, dynamic environment 6. A highly-organised individual who is responsible to manage tasks on their own 7. Hard-worker, efficient, deadline focused, high attention to detail and strong ability to self-review work 8. Incredibly neat and have extensive experience with reporting to Executives 9. Must be good with people and work well in a team 10. Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, Office) 11. Strong Microsoft Excel skills(pivot tables, vlookups, complex if formulas)
