Hire Resolve is assisting a leading engineering firm in Cape Town with the search for a talented Structural Draughtsman. In this role, you will be responsible for producing detailed structural drawings and plans that reflect the specifications outlined by engineers and architects.

As a Structural Draughtsman, you will work with the design team to prepare accurate drawings that support the construction process and ensure the structural integrity of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and modify detailed structural drawings in accordance with project specifications
• Collaborate closely with engineers and architects to ensure accuracy in designs
• Perform quality control checks on drawings to maintain high standards of detail and precision
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and building codes
• Manage the drawing library and documentation effectively
• Stay updated with advancements in drafting technology and software

Requirements: 

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Structural Draughtsman in the construction or engineering field
• Proficient in Revit and other relevant drafting software
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles and local building codes
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members

Our client, a leading engineering consulting company is currently looking for a Structural Draughtsman/BIM Modeller to join their team in Cape Town. 

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed structural drawings using REVIT software in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Generate accurate BIM models to facilitate project coordination and collaboration among various stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure alignment with design intent and project requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and coordination meetings to identify and resolve conflicts and discrepancies.
• Provide support and guidance to junior drafters and modelers as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with REVIT software in a structural drafting or BIM modeling capacity.
• Proficiency in producing detailed drawings and models for structural components.
• Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within project deadlines.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Knowledge of other CAD software (AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, etc.).
• Familiarity with relevant industry software and tools for structural analysis and design.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial or institutional projects.
