About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in civil engineering and quantity surveying to join our team at West Coast Personnel. As an estimator, you will be responsible for identifying suitable tender opportunities, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting procurement decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents and assess qualification criteria and returnable requirements
- Attend site briefings and inspections
- Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and pricing schedules using CCS
- Compile and submit complete, compliant bid documents within deadlines
- Adjudicate quotations and support procurement decisions
- Monitor tender validity periods and coordinate extensions
- Follow up on submitted bids and provide outcome reports to senior management
- Lead and support tender office staff
Requirements
- 10–15 years’ civils estimating experience with proven CCS proficiency
- Strong knowledge of tendering, cost estimating, and QS principles
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and numerical ability
- Skilled in interpreting civil engineering documentation
- Proficient in estimating/modelling software (advantageous)
- Highly organised, structured, and deadline-driven
- Professional interpersonal skills with strong commercial and cost-control focus
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering (preferred)
