About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Physiotherapist to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a Registered physiotherapist with HPCSA and Malpractice Insurance, you will be part of a niche and dynamic working environment, forming a vital role in rehabilitation centres, sports performance facilities/private practices. With a strong interest in physical and sports activities, we are looking for someone who is motivated and self-driven, well-presented, professional, passionate, and confident.
Key Responsibilities
- Consulting with patients to assess their physical conditions, identifying symptoms and challenges
- Reviewing patients’ medical history and referrals from surgeons, GPs, occupational therapists etc.
- Planning, customising, implementing, and managing patients’ physical therapy programmes
- Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments, exercises, and specialist techniques to relieve pain and improve the patients’ mobility
- Educating patients on injury prevention and how to manage physical conditions at home
- Design and implement injury prevention strategies
- Managing and treating short-term injuries
- Keeping detailed patient records and updating treatment plans
- Advising on lifestyle changes and workplace accommodations
- Staying up to date with the latest research and advancements in physiotherapy
- Complying with regulations and maintaining high standards of patient care
Requirements
- Registered physiotherapist with HPCSA and Malpractice Insurance
- Up-to-date CPD (Continuing Professional Development) status
- Must have own practice number or be willing to apply for own practice number as position will be based within a Biokineticist practice
- Completed BSc in Physiotherapy
- SPT1 certification or equivalent postgraduate qualifications
- First Aid & CPR Qualified
- 2-3 years experience in rehabilitation centres, sports performance facilities/private practices
