About the Role
Talent In Action is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper to join their finance team in Irene, Pretoria-East. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, creditors, and debtors.
- Perform monthly stock-takes and reconcile inventory to the general ledger.
- Assist with payroll preparation and statutory submissions (PAYE, UIF, VAT).
- Prepare and assist with monthly management reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow reports.
- Support the preparation of audit working papers and VAT returns.
Requirements
- Matric with Accounting (Higher Grade).
- Diploma (minimum 24-month course) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
- 2+ years accounting experience in a stock-bearing environment.
- Proficient in QuickBooks (or similar accounting software).
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Fluent in Afrikaans or English (proficiency in both advantageous).
Qualifications
- Diploma (minimum 24-month course) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: Negotiable based on experience. Working Hours: 08h00 – 17h00 (Monday to Friday). Lunch Break: 13h00 – 14h00. Probation Period: 6 months. Must have contactable references.
