About the Role

Hire Power, a leading fast-food franchise, is expanding its operations in Africa and seeks skilled Restaurant General Managers to oversee all staff, budgets, and operations of the business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving sustainable sales and profits by leading the restaurant team and overseeing the management of all franchise systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily restaurant operations
  • Supervise staff and provide training
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor food quality and service standards
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and revenue by understanding customer trends and analysing and interpreting sales data
  • Attend area meetings and deputise for senior staff
  • Manage new product rollouts
  • Involvement in Area/Regional Projects (as required)
  • Act as brand ambassador at community/commercial events
  • Provide support for restaurants in your area
  • Embrace and embed new and/or changes to systems and processes
  • Search for talent outside the obvious talent pool and escalate CVs etc to the HRBP lead
  • Prepare and present bi-annual business unit reviews
  • On occasion, act as MOD (Manager-on-Duty) in the restaurant

Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ years of previous experience in managing a diverse workforce, in the fast-food restaurant/hotel industry
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management-level role
  • Must be a Zambian national with a clear criminal history
  • Tertiary qualification/diploma in retail/hospitality
  • A valid driver’s license is advantageous
  • Demonstrate a strong sales focus, leadership, coaching and people management skills (basic HR/disciplinary/grievance process)
  • Strong figure acumen and proficiency in Excel (working in a digitised environment)
  • Commercial Awareness and understanding of P&L
  • High customer focus
  • Strong communication skills, at all levels
  • Presentation skills
