About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Auditor to join our team at OttoBauthentic in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting risk-based audits across our African franchisee market, as well as supporting various compliance and financial functions. If you have a strong background in finance and auditing, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely completion of risk-based annual company operational and financial audits across the African franchisee market in line with the compan’s internal audit approach, plan, and agreements.
  • Report on and or refer deviations to Compliance Finance Manager for review and distribution to company and all applicable stakeholders.
  • Conduct loss prevention audits as well as development reviews of equity-owned QSRs (Quick Service Restaurants) which will include on-site reviews at Equity stores and interaction with the OPS staff.
  • Report on and or refer deviations to Internal Auditor for review and distribution.
  • Keep SOX process documents up to date and in line with Global expectations and ensuring compliance with SOX controls by the broader finance team.
  • Prepare monthly VAT returns.
  • Support Compliance Financial Manager during the statutory audit and financial statement preparation process.
  • Comply with local financial reporting requirements.
  • Support the Compliance Finance Manager to implement a risk and governance framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting
  • Membership in good standing with the Institute of Internal Auditors/SAICA/SAIPA
  • 3-5 years experience in finance/internal auditing, specifically around the verification and effectiveness of internal controls, financial statement analysis, and procedures within a FMCG environment.
  • Strong IT skills and competency in Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS).
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong report writing and communication skills. (Ability to have tough conversations)
  • Solid financial statements analysis and interpretation skills (liquidity, solvency, debt-equity, etc.)
  • Willing to travel in South Africa and rest of Africa.
  • Micros/GAAP POS knowledge and experience.
