About the Role
Helderberg Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Technical Assistant to join our team in Paarl. As a key member of our food technology division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. With your expertise in food technology and bilingual skills, you will work closely with producers, customers, and other stakeholders to drive business growth and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain customer specifications
- Implement and communicate product specifications to producers
- Advise on technical aspects to farming units
- Update chemical list from various countries and customers
- Advise on chemical sprays
- Manage and build customer and producer relationships
- Update variety information of producers
- Obtain information of new varieties and advise producers accordingly
- Pack house visits to ensure post-harvest quality
- Update Commercial Manager on fruit quality on farms
- Email technical reports to customers
- Monitor quality reports from customers
- Take chemical samples and monitor results
- HACCP team member with the responsibility for food safety as required by the company IFS system
- Monitor new variety trial blocks and advise producers where necessary
Requirements
- MSc in Food Technology or similar
- Must be fully bilingual
