About the Role
Datafin, a dynamic provider of Integrated Security Solutions in Centurion, is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to bridge the gap between the business and the Development team. As a liaison between these two teams, you will be responsible for understanding the changing needs of the business, gathering their business requirements, translating these requirements to the Development team for development, performing a series of tests to ensure the developed solution meets the business requirements, and overseeing the deployment into Production of the end solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and at times proactively anticipate the business requirements from stakeholders and document these requirements in the agreed upon format.
- Effectively translate and communicate these business requirements to the Development team and participate in deriving the end solution.
- Work very closely with the Development team, Project Managers, QA team, vendors, and other external stakeholders to ensure alignment of requirements across the company.
- Effectively communicate project-related tasks, requirements, and timelines to the various stakeholders.
- Participate in testing throughout the SDLC process with the aim of identifying possible issues for immediate resolution.
- Expected to be a responsible party to sign off the developed solution before the release to production.
- Critically analyse systems and processes encountered during daily activities and recommend areas for improvement, highlight possible optimizations and take responsibility for implementation of the agreed upon resultant changes.
- Due to the strategic nature of the position, manage the volume of interdependent requirements and assist in prioritizing any conflicting deliverables.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager, track the progress of all deliverables and identify any risks that can delay and jeopardize the scheduling and quality of these deliverables.
- Provide periodic reporting / updates to the various stakeholders.
- To provide thought leadership in the field of Business Analysis and implement best practices.
- Make an active contribution to an effective and efficient working environment aligned to the companys corporate culture.
Requirements
- Relevant Bachelors Degree or an equivalent qualification.
- 5-10 Years experience in Business Analysis or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Project Management principles including Agile and Waterfall.
- Practical working experience performing Data Analysis.
- Ability to multi-task and plan effectively.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Excellent presentation skills, both in preparing and presenting.
- Working knowledge of Database technologies.
- High level of competency in Microsoft Suite of products covering Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
